Enough is Never Enough

It's hard finding peace as a creator.  No matter how hard we work towards our endless array of goals and ambitions, we can still feel without.  It's as if we seek the light knowing no satiety.

An author may write a hundred novels and not feel as if his work were complete.

A composer may score a thousand Symphonies, and still have a nagging sense he's just begun.

An inventor may discover the next lightbulb and not even realize it,  having moved on to the next invention.

Today, let yourself feel as if you alone are enough.  It's this sense of abundance that, comes from within that will fill our days with the light we seek.

Getting Started: The Landslide Effect

Usually it is our fears that hold us back from starting something truly important.

We have plenty of time for the disco, the telephone, or shopping, but when it comes to climbing your own mountains, our fears tell us we don't have the time.

What have you been putting off?

The Best Rewards

The best rewards are for things that require sacrifice.

If you didn't pay to get it, mostly likely you'll neglect it.  Strange, but true.

On the other hand, those achievements borne of discipline, focus, and inspiration, or shall I say "blood, sweat, and tears," will define you.

It wasn't an easy task for Dostoevsky to write The Brothers Karamozov, but the world is richer for it.

One Cup

One person, one cup.

It's not a new idea.  You wash your cup when it's dirty and have one cup in the house per person.

Mine is a really beautiful mug.  It's really all I need.

It's a process of paring down, and cleaning up the clutter.

If you don't love it or use it, it's static dead matter clogging up your workflow.

Finding Your Lost Passions

It's really easy to get knocked off your Horse.

Oftentimes just going with the flow leads you astray from your true passions in life.  It's so tempting to travel the path of least resistance, and even though we may create disaster after disaster, few will do the difficult yet fulfilling things worth our full attention and devotion.

Writing a Book?
Making your first film?
Designing your logo?

Everything worthwhile takes time, and concentration.  Find a place you can concentrate on changing your life as opposed to complaining about it, and you will begin to have peace.  Your calling beckons, if you will listen.

My sister made this as a kid.  I would pay to see to her do pottery again.

Recently I began designing things on the computer.  Someone close to me became a prolific and powerful designer and I think I was so intimidated, I neglected my own passion for graphic design.

I fell back in love with design.  What have you re-discovered recently in yourself?  Write it down and write a song about it!
